Composition : A Picnic Have Enjoyed

A Picnic Have Enjoyed

A picnic is having a meal out of doors, as part of a pleasure trip. Every year after the annual examination is over, we go on a picnic at different place. Last year, we went to Sonargaon on a picnic expedition. It was both exciting and enjoyable.

Our school picnic was planned long before we actually went for it. After the second term exam, we went to our teachers and requested them to take us out for a picnic. They agreed and the 30th December was fixed for the occasion.

We all gathered at the school premises at 8:30am. Three buses were hired to take us to the picnic spot. We made us all arrangements for coking on the spot. We also took light food for breakfast and refreshment.

The picnic spot was some 70 kilometres away. It took two hours to reach the place. We all enjoyed singing songs all the way around. Some of the teachers also joined us. At around 10:45am, we reached the spot. The spot was a nice one. There we started making arrangements for the picnic. The cook and his assistants cooked kachchi biryani and chicken fry. Some of us helped them to prepare their food items. At 3:00pm, we were served with the main meal. Then, we all ate to our hearts’ content.

After the meal was over, we all arranged a cultural programme on the spot. The programme included extempore speeches, fun, ready wit, etc. The teachers also had to participate in the fun. After the cultural programme, we were briefed by our history teacher about the historical past of Sonargaon.

At around 5:30pm. we all got prepared to make our return journey. Before departure, we were given sandwiches and oranges. Then we started our journey to school. We got back to school by 7:15pm.

The picnic was an entertaining one. We all made fun and enjoyed it greatly. We also learned a lot about Sonargaon, our historical heritage.

We do not like monotony. We always want to go for variety which is the spice of life (বৈচিত্র্য). Sometimes we seek to be away from the realities (বাস্তব অবস্থা) of life. So we occasionally go to a forest or a lonely place and eat as we do at home. Such an outing is called a picnic.

Sometimes we become fed up with chaos and cosmos (হট্টগোল) of social life. Then we long for loneliness. So we arrange for feast and other amusements in some remote place. We roam there freely and enjoy the picnic wholeheartedly. Now-a-days it has also become a practice to take radio, transistor, loudspeaker, and record-player to the picnic. Recitation, singing, and merrymaking are essential. The real benefit is that association grows in those picnics and it vigorously tones up our minds and spirit.

Picnics are a pleasant diversion. They break the monotony of life. They bring in to our daily life a touch of variety. They carry us away from the world of our daily existence into a world that is different. They release the springs of joy. They often act as a refreshing tonic.

We suffer from the cares and anxieties of our everyday life. Sometimes we feel bored. Picnic relieves us from such mental agonies by supplying us new spirit for work. It is a good way of getting together. By being back from picnic we can start our work with fresh vigour (প্রাণ).

Man is beset (বেষ্টিত) with woes and cares in life. So it is advisable to go to picnics occasionally. It will refresh both mind and body.
