Procession
A procession is a formal march of a body of men for a particular purpose. It is an organized way of giving expression to the viewpoints of the processionists. We are most familiar with students processions of political nature. Different political parties bring out processions to ventilate their grievances. Processions are brought out by social organizations of men and women to voice forth their objectives or to agitate against social evils. The processionists start slogans to give utterance to their demands. Processions brought out by workers in mills and factories or by the government employees are also very common. Besides, there are silent processions, torchlight processions, and processions on religious occasions. Funeral processions carry the dead bodies to their final destination. A procession is, however, a democratic right of the people for formation and expression of public opinion.
