Application for relief camp

Write a letter to the chairman of your union council to open a relief camp in your locality.

Imagine that a terrible cyclone swept over your village at a speed of 120 km per hour. In the twinkling of an eye, all the dwelling houses were destroyed and standing crops were levelled to the ground. Cattle and poultry have been killed. Many men, women, and children lie wounded. People are living under the open sky in abject misery.

Subject : Prayer for relief camp.

Dear Mr Chairman,

I wish to draw your kind attention to the miseries of the people of our village named Char Bara Shiba due to a devastating norwester. You know that a cyclone has swept over our village at the speed of 120 k.m. per hour. In the twinkle of an eye, all the dwelling houses including Katcha houses and tin-sheds and standing crops were levelled to the ground. Cattle and poultry have been killed. Many people are wounded. Out of twenty thousand people in this area, most of them are now shelterless and are living under open sky. They have no food to eat, no clothes to put on, and no medicine. There is also scarcity of pure drinking water as the small number of tubewells and some reserve water tanks which were the source of pure-drinking water, were destroyed by the norwester. The cyclone lasted only for a few minutes. But it caused colossal destruction.

In the circumstances, I request you to open a relief camp in our area immediately. If you open it, various NGOs and social and political organizations will come to help you with food, money and materials.
