Letter to your father about your hostel life

Write a letter to your father about your hostel life.

Suppose, you are M. M. Shelley living in a hostel at Uttara Model Town, Dhaka. Your father has wanted to know about your hostel life. The hostel’s canteen and dining room are in a mess. The foods are of low quality. The canteen, kitchen and utensils are full of dirt. The political activities of students create disturbance. You try to avoid the activists tactfully. Tension mounts when clash occurs between the rival groups. There are occasional occurrences of theft also.

My dear father,
Your letter full of advice is just to my hand. You wanted to know about my hostel life here. The hostel’s canteen and dining room are in a mess. The foods are of low quality. The canteen, kitchen and utensils are full of dirt.

Outside the hostel, there is an open space where I walk in the morning and evening. It is free from dust and smoke of the city. I feel here disturbed due to political activities, though I am not entangled in them. Sometimes students of different groups get attached to different political ideologies and give slogans in the corridor of the hostel. It disturbs my regular studies. Student leaders come to request us to join procession or to join political meeting of their leaders, but I tactfully avoid them. Tension mounts whenever there is clash between rival group.

Sometimes small thefts occur. I have lost my shoes from the room the other day.

Hoping to come home for a few days after the session examination which is scheduled to be held next month.

I am well. My best regards to you and mother.

Yours affectionately
Shelley
