Mustafa, Local Correspondent, SHANIRAKHRA, DHAKA, December 15 : A daring dacoity was committed in a Dhaka-bound luxury coach at Shanirakhra on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in broad daylight on Wednesday police said, says BSS.
Passengers of the luxury air-conditioned coach of Sohag Paribahan alleged that five to six armed dacoits boarded the coach from Shanirakhra area at about 1.00pm when the driver slowed the coach.
Just after boarding the coach, they started looting money and belongings of the passengers at gunpoint and got down from the bus with the booty near Shanirakhra bus stop.
The driver of the coach had talked to somebody over mobile phone just after passing the Kanchpur bridge, the passengers said.
The dacoits also beat up some passengers with firearms during the dacoity.
Policy said, the angry passengers later caught the driver and its supervisor and handed them over to Demra thana. Demra police arrested them and seized the mobile phone from the driver.
A case was registered with Demra thana in this connection.
