THE MISERIES OF THE PEOPLE AFFECTED BY THE EROSION OF MEGHNA
Saiyed Hasan, BARISAL, April 20 : The mighty river Meghna has caused huge damage to some areas of Barisal this year. Hundreds of villagers in some two villages of Barisal District have been rendered homeless. Kafil Uddin, a victim of the mighty Meghna is now living on the highway with family and passing hard times. He and his family members are passing their days half-fed and sometimes unfed. Anwar, another victim, has lost everything to the erosion of the Meghna. Now, he has no home. no job and is passing his days through much hardship. Not only Kafil Uddin and Anwar, but thousands of people are also going through the same situations. They are now hungry, weak and worried about their future. They do not know where they would go. They see sign of misery and hopelessness everywhere the eyes go.
