The Beauty of the Taj Mahal
India has many beautiful historical places of interest, but the beauty of the Taj Mahal at Agra surpasses the beauty of all other places. The Taj Mahal, the symbol of true love, was built by Shah Jahan, the famous Mughal emperor, in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It was built three centuries ago. There are symmetrical cypress trees surrounding the building. The outstanding spiral minarets enhance its beauty. There are beautiful gardens and flowers bearing trees around this majestic building. There is also a narrow water channel flowing by the side of the cypress trees. It looks like a fairy dressed in a spotless white attire. On a moonlit night, its beauty allures everyone. The Taj Mahal stands on a huge white marble platform. On the four corners of the platform there stand for towers. The sidewall of the Taj has been decorated with verses from the Holy Quran that are carved on the walls. Thousands of foreign tourists worldwide come to visit the Taj Mahal every day.
