Tribals of Bangladesh
There are several aboriginal tribes in Bangladesh. These are Magh, Tipra, Morong, Marma, Megas, Manipuri, Khomi, Hajong, Chakma, Garo, and Sautal. They live in different areas of Bangladesh. The Chakma live in Chittagong, Rangamati, Khagrachhari and Bandarban districts. The Garo live in Mymensingh, Tangail, Sherpur, and Netrokona and the Sautal live in Rajshahi, Rangpur, Bogra, and Dinajpur districts. Most of the tribes build their houses on the high platform to protect them from different types of insects land animals. They use the empty space below their houses to keep things such as agricultural tools and looms. Their houses walls are made of bamboo, slates and the roof is thatched. The main food of the Marmas is boiled rice with vegetables. A kind of soup made from boiled green leaves seasoned with chillies and salt is one of their most favourite items. Another popular food item is tender bamboo shoots. The tribal people of Bangladesh have their distinct and ways of life.
