A Wall Clock
A wall clock is a watch placed on the wall. It is larger than any other time-keeping machine like the table clock or wristwatch. It has several parts – the outer frame, the dial plate and the fine instruments in it. It has a flat round face which is called the dial. A transparent glass or plastic piece is set in the frame which covers the face of it. There are two or three hands in the wall clock. The smaller one is the hour hand and the bigger is the minute hand. Some wall clocks have the second hand. A spring moves the hands round above the dial. Along the margin of the dial, there are figures to help read time. It hangs down from the inside works at the wall clock. It swings to and from, keeps balance and marks time. It is a very important part of any room.
