Once upon a time, a noble-man built a grand house. On the front of the gate, he wrote the words, “This house is to be given to the first man who can prove that he is contented.” One day a stranger knocked at the gate and desired to speak to the noble-man
about the house. The nobleman met the stranger and wanted to know his desire. The stranger then said that he had come to claim the house because he was contented. Then the noble-man asked him how he could prove that he was contented. The stranger said that actually, it was his nature to be contented whenever he found anything after his hope or expectation. The nobleman then said to him, “Do you know who a contented man is? He who is happy with what he has and doesn’t want to get anything more is a contented man. And if you were a contented man, you wouldn’t come to have this house.” Hearing this, the stranger felt ashamed and left the place with a broken heart.

Within a few days, a man came to prove him contented with what he had. He had some land properties and he was leading a happy life with his family. The person brought him to the house where he spent the night. But the man could not sleep at that very night. Because the decoration of the house was so much beautiful and the attractive design astonished him deeply. He thought that this house was more beautiful than that of his own and so he desired to decorate his own house more colourful than this. Next morning when the person asked him about his sleep, he replied that he could not sleep last night thinking again and again of the decoration of the house. Then the person realized that this man was not contented with what he had. So, the person did not give him the ownership of the house.
