I think the most important scientific invention of the modern world is the electricity. It has played the most important role in the development of civilization. Even now the world seems like a hell without electricity. Without electricity, we will lose much of our comfort. It plays as a platform for other inventions as well. All other major inventions such as radio, TV, cinema, electric, light, electric fan, fridge, air cooler, heater, air conditioner etc. depend on electricity for their operation. There are some demerits of electricity as well. It is not easy to produce electricity. Most power stations use gas, coal, natural oil etc. They cause environmental pollution. Electricity is also dangerous if mis-handled. Every year many people die from electrocution.
