That perches in the soul –

আশা হলো পালকযুক্ত সেই বস্তু
যেটি আত্মায় বাঁধে বাসা –
আর শব্দহীন সুরে গায় –

The Theme : The poem has a symbolic meaning. Here hope is compared to bird. And, this bird that is hope sings continuously in human mind when humans pass through difficult times. Thus hope inspires human beings to live in this world in the face of the most adverse circumstances. So the poem depicts the ever listing and encouraging nature of hope.
