If I Die in A War Zone
Unknown Indian Solder
If I die in a war zone,
Box me up and send me home.
Put my medals on my chest,
Tell my mom I did my best.
Tell my Dad not to bow.
He wont get tension from me now.
Tell my brother to study perfectly.
Keys of my bike will be his permanently.
Tell my sis not to be upset,
Her brother will not rise after this sunset.
And tell my love not to cry….
Because I’m a solder, born to die!
রণাঙ্গনের মাঝে আমার যায় যদি এ প্রাণ
পাঠিয়ে দিও বাক্সে ভরে বাড়িতে স্টান।
মেডেলগুলো রেখো আমার চওড়া ছিনার কাছে
মাকে বলো তার ছেলে সব উজাড় করে গেছে।
বাবাকে বলবে যেন না নোয়ান শির
আমায় ঘিরে দুশ্চিন্তা করবে না আর ভীড়।
ভাইটাকে বলো ঠিকঠাক যেন করে যায় পড়াশুনা
এখন থেকে বাইকের চাবি তারই শুধু মালিকানা।
বোনটাকে বলো ভেঙে না পড়ে থাকে যেন অমলিন
এই সাঁঝ শেষে ভাইটি তার আর জাগবে না কোনদিন।
প্রেয়সীকে মোর প্রবোধ শুনিও মাতম যেন না করে
যোদ্ধা যে আমি, জন্ম নিয়েছি শহীদ হবার তরে।
The Theme : The poem deals with the life or duties of a solder. Generally a solder is born to die for his country. Here a soldier expresses his wish in a touching manner. He is ready to fight for his country and feels proud of being a soldier.
(কবিতাটির আলোচ্য বিষয় হচ্ছে সৈনিকের জীবন বা তাঁর দায়িত্ব-কর্তব্য। সাধারণত সৈনিকের জন্মেই হয় দেশের জন্য তার জীবন বিসর্জনের জন্য। এখানে সৈনিক হৃদয়স্পর্শী ভাবে তাঁর আকাঙ্ক্ষা ব্যক্ত করেছেন। তিনি তাঁর দেশের জন্য যুদ্ধ করতে প্রস্তুত থাকেন আর সৈনিক হয়ে গর্বিত বোধ করেন।)
