Necessity is the mother of invention.

Main idea : Necessity is the key to creativity and new invention. Nothing is invented without necessity.
Amplification : Man is a social being. He is rational. He is the best creation of Almighty. He is the maker of his own life. He has immense necessities in life. These necessities propel him to create or invent anything. Our forefathers were hopeless and powerless. They didn't know how to satisfy their needs. They felt some needs. Then they thought to fulfill their needs. When we face problems, we feel a strong urge to get rid of these problems. Nothing on earth has been created overnight. The evolution of civilization emerges as the direct consequence of necessity. Man becomes successful in innovating newer and newer things as he feels necessity to do so. Now man's success reaches its climax for his endeavor and enterprise. Man doesn't feel the urge to create anything if he has n necessity. Wonderful discoveries and inventions have adorned man's life with pleasures and satisfactions. These have been possible as per man's demands and necessities. Thus, we can affirm that necessity is the mother of invention on earth.

মূলভাব : প্রয়োজনই সৃজনশীলতা ও নতুন আবিষ্কারের চাবি। প্রয়োজন ব্যতীত কোনো কিছুই আবিষ্কৃত হয়নি।
ভাবসম্প্রসারণ : মানুষ সামাজিক জীব। সে বিচারবুদ্ধি-সম্পন্ন। সে সর্বশক্তিমানের সর্বশ্রেষ্ঠ সৃষ্টি। তার জীবনে বিপুল প্রয়োজন আছে। এই প্রয়োজনগুলো তাকে কোনো কিছু সৃষ্টি বা আবিষ্কার করতে সম্মুখে চালিত করে। আমাদের পূর্ব-পুরুষগণ নিরাশ ও ক্ষমতাহীন ছিলেন। তারা তাদের অভাব মিটাতে জানতেন না। তারা কিছু অভাব অনুভব করতেন। তখন তারা তাদের প্রয়োজন পূর্ণ করার কথা ভাবতেন। আমরা যখন সমস্যার সম্মুখীন হই, তখন আমরা এই সমস্যাগুলো থেকে মুক্তি লাভ করতে জোরালো তাগিদ অনুভব করি। বিশ্বে কোনো কিছুই রাতারাতি সৃষ্টি হয়নি। প্রত্যক্ষ প্রয়োজনের ফলে সভ্যতার ক্রমবিকাশ উদ্ভূত হয়। মানুষ অধিকতর নতুন নতুন জিনিস উদ্ভাবন করতে সফল হয় তার প্রয়োজন অনুভবের দ্বারা। এখন মানুষের সাফল্য তার চেষ্টা ও উদ্যোগের জন্য এর চরমসীমায় পৌঁছেছে। তার কোনো কিছুর প্রয়োজন না থাকলে, মানুষ কোনো কিছু সৃষ্টি করতে তাগিদ অনুভব করে না। বিস্ময়কর উদ্ভাবন ও আবিষ্কার মানুষের জীবনকে আনন্দ ও তৃপ্তি দ্বারা অলংকৃত করেছে। মানুষের চাহিদা ও প্রয়োজন অনুযায়ী এই সবকিছু সম্ভব হয়েছে। সুতরাং আমরা নিশ্চিত করতে পারি যে বিশ্বে প্রয়োজনই আবিষ্কারের প্রসূতি।

The proverb means that when something really has to be done, we find a way of doing it. The feeling of want is thus at the root of all discoveries and inventions in this world.
Primitive men felt the want of shelter, food, clothes, and protection from wild animals. Their wants led them to work. They discovered agriculture and produced food. But they were not satisfied with what they had.
As civilization progressed, men felt more wanted. So new lands were discovered and new theories were propounded. So we find that the story of the progress of human civilization is the story of one invention after another under the pressure of necessity.
