Amplification
We live in deeds, not in years.
মানুষ বাঁচে তার কর্মে, বয়সে নয়।
Main idea : Our permanence on earth depends on labour; not on the number of years we live.
Amplification : Man is the best creation of God. He has endowed man with rationality and acumen. This world is beautiful and mysterious. We have a lot of work in life. Action sustains us; laziness brings destruction to us. As a rational beings, we have great responsibilities. We should not live only for ourselves. We have to work for our fellows. Our life on earth means for doing good to others. Our work makes this world beautiful. Man has been working since birth to reach this present state. The importance of our life is judged by the work that we have done on Earth. Our good work and achievements make us immortal. We shall live among our living fellows if we work for the betterment of humanity. On the other hand, our evil or bad deeds bring disgrace to us. Nobody respects a man who does evil work. Our life is short but our good and kind work sustains us after our death. Thus, we have to work for the betterment of human beings. Only in that case, we shall be remembered among our living fellows. In fact, we live in our deeds; not in the number of years that we live.
বঙ্গানুবাদ
মূলভাব : পৃথিবীতে আমাদের কার্যসম্পাদন পরিশ্রমের ওপর নির্ভর করে। কিন্তু আমাদের বেঁচে থাকার বছরের সংখ্যার ওপর নয়।
ভাবসম্প্রসারণ : মানুষ ঈশ্বরের সর্বশ্রেষ্ঠ সৃষ্টি। তিনি মানুষকে বিচারশক্তি ও প্রখর বুদ্ধি দ্বারা বিভূষিত করেছেন। এই বিশ্ব সুন্দর ও রহস্যময়। আমাদের জীবনে প্রচুর কাজ আছে। কাজ আমাদের শক্তি দান করে; অলসতা আমাদের জন্য ধ্বংস আনে। বিচারবুদ্ধিসম্পন্ন জীব হিসেবে, আমাদের মহান দায়িত্ব আছে। আমাদের কেবল নিজেদের জন্য বাঁচা উচিত নয়। আমাদের সঙ্গীদের জন্য আমাদের কাজ করতে হবে। এই পৃথিবীতে আমাদের জীবন অপরের ভালো করার উদ্দেশ্যে। আমাদের কাজ এই পৃথিবীকে সুন্দর করে। বর্তমান অবস্থায় পৌঁছতে মানুষ জন্ম থেকে কাজ করছে। আমাদের জীবনের গুরুত্ব কাজ দ্বারা বিচার করা হয়। যা আমরা পৃথিবীতে করেছি। আমাদের ভালো কাজ এবং কৃতিত্ব আমাদেরকে অমর করে। আমরা আমাদের জীবন্ত সঙ্গীদের মধ্যে বেঁচে থাকবো যদি আমরা মানবতার উন্নতির জন্য কাজ করি। পক্ষান্তরে, আমাদের মন্দ ও খারাপ কাজ আমাদের জন্য কলঙ্ক বয়ে নিয়ে আসে। যে মানুষ মন্দ কাজ করে কেউ তাকে শ্রদ্ধা করে না। আমাদের জীবন সংক্ষিপ্ত কিন্তু আমাদের ভালো ও সদয় কাজ আমাদের মৃত্যুর পর আমাদেরকে ধারণ করে। সুতরাং মানবতার উন্নতির জন্য আমাদের কাজ করতে হবে। কেবল সেইক্ষেত্রে আমরা আমাদের জীবন্ত অনুসারীদের মধ্যে স্মরণীয় হয়ে থাকবো। প্রকৃতপক্ষে, আমরা আমাদের কাজের মধ্যে বেচে থাকি, আমাদের বেঁচে থাকার বছরের সংখ্যার মধ্যে নয়।
