Over hill, over dale
Thorough bush, thorough brier,
Over park, over pale.
Thorough flood, thorough fire!
I do wander everywhere,
Swifter than the moon’s sphere;
And I serve the Fairy Queen,
To dew her orbs upon the green;
The cowslips tall her pensioners be;
In their gold coats spots you see;
Those be rubies, fairy favours;
In those freckles live their savours;
I must go seek some dewdrops here,
And hang a pearl in every cowslip’s ear.
ডিঙিয়ে পাহাড়, উপত্যকা,
পেরিয়েছি ঝোপ, কাঁটাময় পথ,
পেরিয়ে বন আর প্রাচীর রেখা
বেয়েছি প্লাবন আগুনের রথ!
সবখানে তারে খুঁজে হয়রান
পেছনে চাঁদের গতি আমি আগুয়ান
সেবিতে পরীর রানী পেতে তার মন
ধুয়েছি শিশিরে তার মুকুট শোভন
বুনোফুলকায় যেন অনুচরী যত
সোনার প্রলেপে দেখ ছিটেফোটা শত,
সেইতো পান্না হারা পরীর আদল
তিলকছাপাতে বাজে মাধুরী মাদল
খুঁজতে যাবই সেখা শিশিরের ফুল
বুনো ফুলে পরাব যে মুক্তোর দুল।

The Theme : This is the except taken from Shakespeare’s one of the most celebrated comedies. These lines are uttered by a Fairy. The main theme of the poem is the fastest speed and ever presence condition of the Fair. She is the marker of Titania who is the Fairy Queen. The cowslips flowers are the Queen’s bodyguard. Above all, this shows a joyous and festive mood of the play itself.
