Leisure

What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.
No time to turn at Beauty’s glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.
A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
জীবন সেতো কিছুই নয় যদি, তা হয় শুধুই কর্মময়,
আমাদের দাঁড়ানোর এবং তাকানোর নেই সময়।
গাছের নিচে জিরিয়ে নেবার হয় না আমাদের সময়
যদিও বা গরু ভেড়া সে সময় পায়।
যখন বুনো পথ পার হই, সময় নেই দেখার,
কীভাবে ঘাসের মধ্যে বাদাম-লুকায় কাঠবিড়ালী,
উজ্জ্বল দিনের আলোতেও, সময় পােই না দেখার,
নক্ষত্রে ভরা আকাশ রাতের নদী।
নেই সৌন্দর্যে চোখ জুড়াবার ত্রস্ততাহীন ক্ষণকাল,
তাই দেখতে নারি উর্বশীর ঐ নৃত্যনিপুন পায়ের তাল।
নেই ফুরসত দেখতে হাসি ঠিকরে পড়া ঐ মুখে
যে হাসি তার উৎসারিত স্নিগ্ধমধুর দুই চোখে।
জীবন সেতো দৈন্যতাময় যদি, তা হয় শুধুই কর্মময়,
আমাদের দাঁড়ানোর এবং তাকানোর নেই সময়।
The Theme : Life refers to the quality of being active and exciting. And, to enjoy leisure is a part of life. But modern people have no time to spend their free time in the lap of nature. This restless pace of modern life has a harmful effect on human nature.
